Libraries, Literacy and You' Seminar Day
ReaLM presented the sixth annual professional development day at the Massey University Sport and Rugby Institute in June 2015.
Nearly fiifty school and public librarians, and teachers specialising in children and young adult's libraries and literacy attended from all over the central and lower North Island.
The following sessions were presented on the day:

Literacy Tour of Manawatu Schools
We ran this event for the fifth year to promote reading and literacy by bringing authors and literacy experts from around the country into Manawatu schools.
We were able to offer 10 local schools the following literacy professionals to work with students:
David Hill: Award winning New Zealand author
Des Hunt: Award winning New Zealand author
Paul Adamson: Award winning New Zealand author, and youth counsellor
Diana Neild (in collaboration with The New Zealand Book Council): Award winning New Zealand author, and entertainer
Communtiy Event:
'Hey, do you want to meet an author?'
We were delighted to have hosted this successful community event in collaboration with Palmerston North City Library showcasing award winning authors Paul Adamson, David Hill and Des Hunt - where attendees were able to put questions to our author panel.
New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults 2015
ReaLM was appointed the regional coordinators for the annual event celebrating authors and books published in New Zealand for children and young adults and in conjunction with New Zealand Book Council we had the opportunity to have 2015 award finalist Glyn Harper touring Manawatu schools for a day.
